How It Works?
The TCRT5000 sensor module utilizes an infrared emitting diode to detect objects. The diode continuously emits infrared light.
- No Object Detected: If the emitted infrared light is not reflected back, or if the reflected intensity is insufficient, the phototransistor remains in an off state. Consequently, the module’s digital output (DO) is low, indicating no object detection.
- Object Detected: When an object enters the detection range, the infrared light is reflected back with sufficient intensity. This saturates the phototransistor, resulting in a high digital output (DO) from the module, signaling object detection.
Additionally:
- The module provides an analog output (AO) representing the voltage difference generated by varying reflected infrared intensities, allowing for more granular detection data.
